Month end reporting from Cee Lee Reed for April 2017

Month End Reporting | April 2017

It’s time for the month end reporting. Making these reports public holds me accountable to the goals I’ve set for this blog and my business. The month end reporting will provide a trend that I can use to see where I need to grow and change.

Month End Reporting on CeeLeeReed.com

Each month, I’ll share my stats as well as the tasks that are working to help build my biz. I know that sharing this information will help you create and grow your own business that blogs.  The stats are trending up, even though not all were met so I’m very happy with that.

Social media stats for month end reporting

Twitter

1510 followers, 16% increase. GOAL NOT MET

Goal set for 6,000 followers by the end of the year so I need to average 500 per month.

Follow me on my Twitter account.

Thoughts: True fact. I have completely ignored Twitter this April. Sadly, the month end reporting numbers prove it. My 100 per day strategy was not done and it shows. I still intend on doing the purge I mentioned last month but other tasks have kept me from focusing on this account.

Do you get a lot of engagement on Twitter?

Facebook group

149 members, 16% increase. GOAL NOT MET

Goal set for 600 by the end of the year so I need to average 50 per month.

Join the Blog Biz & Female Entrepreneur Tips Facebook group.

Thoughts: I’ve been gaining at least 1 new follower each day so I’ve been pleased that my promotion on Facebook is working. Pinned Twitter post is also getting lots of attention.  And this month, the unsubscribes have started to happen.  That sucks but I know that the group isn’t a fit for everyone. While I love the small intimate group where I can get to know everyone…I would love for this stat to increase dramatically because the group is my favorite place to connect.

Instagram

301 followers, 1% increase. GOAL MET

Goal set for 600 by the end of the year so I need to average 50 per month.

Thoughts: Okay so the owner of the Instagram pod decided to make a run for it and my shares dipped a little. And since I’m a relative newbie on Instagram, I’m realizing just how fickle it is. I can gain 25 followers one day and lose 30 the next.  This fluctuation does not appear to have any rhyme or reason so it’s frustrating.  I’m beginning to wonder if other bloggers using the easy follow/unfollow apps are just willy nilly clicking accounts because I recognize a few followers names as they come and go.

Does this happen to you on Instagram?

Here’s a popular Instagram Post that I ran recently.

Twitter @1WitchAtWork

Pinterest

283 followers, 32% increase. GOAL MET

Goal set for 600 by the end of the year so I need to average 50 per month.

Follow me on my Pinterest account.

Thoughts: Pinterest is growing and Tailwind is definitely getting my pins pushed around the blogosphere. PRO TIP: Pinterest will kill your blog’s bounce rate so be ready for that!  To be honest, I expected followers to grow more substantially but 70 in one month is nothing to complain about. I save a ton of time scheduling out pins now so I feel more at ease during my work day. and I love having more time to engage on Pinterest instead of just liking others’ pins.

Want to use Tailwind too?  Here’s my referral link that offers you a FREE month.  Tailwind repin activity last week alone was up 437%. OMGee……….

Alexa stats

US ranking 140152 went up a bit from 135070 last month. I suspect that since this stat is greatly influenced by the number of visitors to your site and I’m only posting once per week most weeks for this quarter…the number increased.  Reporting it for fun as I’m not concerned about this metric.

Traffic

Number one referrer this month was Pinterest.  It surpassed Facebook for the second month. Increase attributed to using Tailwind for Pinterest and my focus on growing its numbers. I pin 50 posts each day and constantly schedule online works of art that I read. Those followers stop by the blog.  BAM!  Traffic.

I really want to work on keeping my readers on the site for more than 2 pages. Some months the average is up and this month it’s been hovering around 2.  I may need to reduce the number of links in each post as they don’t seem to be working and could be having the opposite affect; don’t want to overwhelm my fans.

Pageviews

1,367 pageviews, 5% increase. GOAL NOT MET

Goal set for 4,000 pageviews each month.

Thoughts: Just gonna take some time.

VIP List

65 subscribers, 12% increase. GOAL NOT MET

Goal set for 2500 subscribers at the end of the year so I need to average 208 each month.

Thoughts: Slow and steady wins the race but this is slow. didn’t think it would be so slow going. My VIP List is tied to my FREEBIES page and they are valuable offers but it seems like everyone is a bit gun shy about taking them.  I’ve started advertising the VIP List more often so this should jumpstart some growth.

Hooray for 2nd quarter!  Time to buckle down and focus on the new list items.

What worked this month

1. Offering a Mailchimp training inside the group. Several members joined to watch the training. It was a long 1.5 hour video that covered all of Mailchimp’s basics and it was well received.

Why don’t you join us in the Blog Biz & Female Entrepreneur Tips community; it’s a great group of women and you get tons of access to ME.

2. Okay, I’ve beat this fact to death but using Tailwind definitely got engagement on my Pinterest account.

If you’re looking for a Tailwind Tribe, join mine and pin about social media, WordPress, organization, blogging, time management and more.

3. Facebook Live videos continue to work and I’m seeing more views on my stuff. My Meet & Greet series lets the ladies know a little more about me and each other. I also find it stretching me outside my comfort zone, not because of the video, but because of all the sharing of my personal life and stories.  I love to talk but really am a private person.  That seems to be changing.

What didn’t work this month

1. My WordPress updates.  Every time my darn theme updated, it removed the custom code that I’d created for some of my color schemes.  Such a pain to see this happening but I finally saved the entire code in a document that I can simply copy and paste.

PRO TIP: Create a mini training inside your Facebook group and then promote it outside of the group.  You’ll get new members just because they are interested in the topic.  Click HERE to watch my training videos.

2. My voice.  Hah!  I literally had laryngitis for over a week and still have a scratchy throat after long winded videos. I had to postpone several of my video training classes because I could not speak.  (Lucky Hubby)

3. My usually meticulous schedule. I was sick, out of town and preoccupied with events outside of my biz.  Not a recipe for success I’m afraid.  Gad that April is almost over and looking forward to a productive May.

Most popular blog post:

The most popular blog post this month end reporting was once again 9 Habits of organized boss ladies that have their shit together. I love teaching others how to get and stay organized. I think this post resonated with them for two reasons:

  • Everyone is thinking organization in the first quarter of the year
  • The title included the word “shit” that got people sharing

I decided to start promoting this particular post around Facebook to increase my pageviews. I am in the process of creating a strategy for promoting certain posts with the help of ads.

Income Goals

I built this first year’s income goal on the premise of selling one of my signature programs each month. Very reasonable goal considering my primary focus is not on income this year; it’s on GROWTH.  I intend to focus on growing my blog readership, social media accounts and my community. Once they are established, which God willing will happen this new year; I’ll switch to a more money-centric goal. If you think you’re ready to work with me but still have a few questions, let’s meet for a coffee break and discuss how I can help.

Things to try this next month

1.Commenting daily on Instagram. I’ve been lax about commenting on posts that I like and even worse with replies to those wonderful ladies that comment on mine. This may be part of the reason why my followers fluctuate. They could be unhappy with my lack of response. I would be.  Okay maybe not but being online comes with a responsibility to interact and I need to do it more.

2. Facebook live videos outside of my own group.  They are such an easy way to meet and talk with your community. I love seeing others on video so of course they’ll want to see mine too. I’m hoping that by speaking more on video in places outside of my groups will increase the members in my own group and up the month end reporting stats.

What topic would you like me to speak about on Facebook Live?

We still have a few days of April month end reporting left so the stats will increase a bit but it’s clear that to hit the goals I’ve set; no more slacking can happen. I don’t feel like I’ve been remiss on my daily success tasks but I know that I haven’t done everything I wanted either.  I need to find the happy medium in order to grow. How is your blog going?  What are you working on this month? Tell me in the comments.
